Functional Movement Lineman Progression

This past football season I had a player that was very strong and a good weight at line, but had a very hard time gettiing in and out of his stance. He did well against kids with similar stance issues, but against quicker kids he had a lot of problems.

I came across this video and in the first 15 seconds it showed where his major problems were. 

"slow into your stance, slow out of your stance" 

The hip joint is the second strongest mechanical lever in the body next to the jaw. To use it to it's full potential you need to increase your strength and flexibility in this joint.
